Another Messiah - Dark Dreams, My Child
Self-financed

Vera: I completely agree with the first sentence of the biography of Another Messiah. It says: "Another Messiah makes energetic, atmospheric and innovative metal or in other words: post doom". This band hailing from Nijmegen (NL) released earlier one EP 'Another Renaissance', but at the beginning of October it was time for a full length album, recorded in the Excess Studios in Rotterdam. I am deeply impressed of what the band has fixed on this CD under the smoke of the Dutch port.

'Dark Dreams, My Child' comprehends everything what an engaging, smashing metal album ought to be. A sonorous production, pre-eminent vocals which are powerful grunts on one side and slightly melancholic clean vocals on the other hand and lashings of dark atmospheric fragments. But that is not where it ends. Most important factor is yet to come. The band colours all this with the sound of a oboe. This unusual instrument in metal gives this album a very extra-ordinary sound. Without pushing it too far, these peaceful sounds loom up when needed and create an extra dimension in the innovative compositions of Another Messiah.
